Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson Innovation is recruiting an experienced professional to lead the strategic marketing efforts of JLABS across Asia Pacific, but with a focus on Greater China. The goal of Johnson & Johnson Innovation is to advance transformative healthcare solutions that improve the lives of people around the world and, in so doing, to deliver value to Johnson & Johnson (“J&J”). JJI accomplishes this by catalyzing new science and technology through collaboration and exchange of ideas. This growing team is looking for a colleague inspired to help build and innovate new ways of fostering the productive life-science ecosystem of Asia Pacific with a focus on Greater China.

The Senior Manager, Innovation Activation, JLABS @ Shanghai will work in partnership with regional team members to develop a cohesive strategy with specific objectives to engage with the Asia Pacific life science ecosystem and attract and develop the highest potential innovators both locally and globally.

This role is responsible for supporting external engagements that advance our business objectives, drive awareness and advance organizational and partner reputation as well as fostering a community of innovators.

This role reports to Innovation Activation Regional Lead, Asia Pacific, with a dotted line to the Head of JLABS @ Shanghai.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead JLABS @ Shanghai strategic marketing efforts, to support business targets, including setting specific marketing strategy, goals, objectives and plans for Asia Pacific.

  • Trusted business advisor and subject matter expert to Head of JLABS @ Shanghai.

  • Understand the marketplace and forecast market trends, industry dynamics.

  • Conduct deep analyses to evaluate competitive landscape, opportunities, and risks.

  • Generate innovative ideas to promote our brand, our mission, our ecosystem, and our portfolio of companies, including digital campaigns, external engagements, programming, sponsorships, and symposiums.

  • Operationalize plans including metrics generation, data analysis, market insights and budget management.

  • Report and socialize key findings with the teams, translating results into clear, concise presentations and written reports.

  • Manage ongoing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including strategic marketing partners, industry professionals, trade associations, government, academia, key opinion leaders and potential sponsors.

  • Lead and leverage presence at regional conferences (sponsorship, speaking engagements, event planning, advertisements, booth, speakers, etc.).

  • Use customer feedback to improve performance of JLABS and its brand in Greater China and across Asia Pacific

  • Coordinate and manage high visibility visits both internal and external.

  • Responsible for growing brand awareness in Greater China and across Asia Pacific

  • As needed, identify new as well as scale marketing systems and processes for growth (e.g., contact database, email marketing, event management, digital analytics, and online community management).

  • Support corporate identity through internal and external work (electronic and hardcopy newsletters, portal, external websites, external brochures, presentations, social media channels, SOPs, etc.).

  • Support regional marketing workstreams.

  • Accountable for JLABS @ SH activation budget and responsible for forecasting. monthly/quarterly including yearend reporting.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related discipline is required.

  • Minimum of 7 years of brand/product marketing and events experience is required.

  • Experience developing program content and advertising is required.

  • Analytical skills are required.

  • Experience in budget forecasting and planning is required.

  • Exceptional writing skills are required.

  • E-Marketing, social media, and digital marketing experience required.

  • Experience in using digital systems for content marketing, event management tools and online tools are required.

  • Good people skills, able to influence management and work cross-functionally.

  • Strong organization skills with ability to prioritize.

  • Strong personal leadership skills.

  • Must be able to organize work towards deadlines and priorities on a daily basis.

  • Customer service oriented.

  • Demonstrates inclusive leadership.

  • Team leadership and management experience is preferred.

  • Experience within a healthcare setting or industry association is preferred.

  • Experience in strategy development and management of social media is preferred.

  • Experience working with and managing vendors, consultants, and budgets is preferred.
