Wayfair Senior Associate, Asia logistic sourcing in Shanghai, China
The Origin Service Development & Vendor Management (SD&VM) team was set up in Dec 2021 to develop origin services that enable shippers and suppliers to deliver their goods into Castlegate Forwarding (CGF) network with speed, competitive price and smooth experience. We officially launch origin trucking FTL services in June 2022 helping shippers move products from factories to Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Xiamen CFS sites. Launching FCL services in Q1 2023 moving products from factories to major ports in Asia.
The primary focus of this position is to continuously develop logistics solutions to help organizations to reduce logistics costs,sourcing various kinds of logistics services, select the best service provider through data analysis and comparison, prepare operating procedures for vendors according to business requirements, and conduct regular audits on vendors according to standard procedures. Manage and steer supplier performance for continuous vendor performance improvement.
What You’ll Do
Sourcing and compliance
Collect internal user requirements to complete the purchase of logistics services for China and SouthEast Asia area.(including but not limited to Warehouse, Trucking, Booking agent, Customs service..)
Contribute to the development of procurement strategies across multiple categories.
Leads service provider evaluation
Improve various kinds of templates to be used in procurement
Ensuring compliance in the procurement process
Logistics cost management
Assist line manager to prepare and monitor annual budgets
Review accounts receivable and payable from and to vendors , identify abnormality
Regularly analyze the logistics costs, according to the results of the analysis, the development of cost optimization.
Vendor Management
Vendor evaluation according to the approved technical criteria
Hold monthly vendor performance review meetings.
Support customer audit including but not limited to external audit by customers and internal audit by the company.
Market information collection
- Collect logistics market information, and relevant market intelligence. Get internal and external resources for logistics benchmarking.
Project management:
- Prepare business case and get quotation, proposal and manage project time line
Cooperate with the stakeholders to prepare costing and formulate budgets
Work closely with service providers to implement new service, maximize cost efficiency and optimize the logistics solutions
Drive logistics impact analysis and constantly improve existing solutions
Fluency in the English is required as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Have origin logistics service providers resources for trucking, warehouse, customs clearance and NVOCC services.
Experience of logistics operation and 5+ years of logistics sourcing or planning and optimization experience
Experience of SouthEast Asia warehouse and/or transportation operation
Familiar with Microsoft Office/Google and working with data
Strong communication skills and comfortable managing multiple stakeholders
Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once
Analytical and process-oriented, comfortable learning new tools
Advanced knowledge preferred for Google
Logistics-related majors is a plus
Logistics sourcing or operation experience for SouthEast Asia is a plus
