VF Corporation Manager, Visual Merchandising in Shanghai, China

Role & Responsibilities:

Position Definition (Key Purpose of the Position) :

The Manager, VM (VANS CHINA) is responsible for developing different guidelines to support retail store concepts (Stand-alone stores, Shop-in-shops, Outlets and Boutiques) and elevated retail store experience.

By understanding different store formats and working closely with Creative Team & Omni-channel Team, different sets of guidance should be set to achieve business needs, while maintaining VANS execution quality and satisfaction standard.

The individual who fulfils this role will be a part of visual merchandising team working with all functions in Vans Regional and Country organizations.

Key Result Areas:

• Create VM guidelines for Stand-alone stores & Shop-in-shop.

• Plan multi format VM guidelines with capacity calculations for fixture system and VM tools.

• Manage project timelines for different guidelines and development roll out schedule.

• Co-ordinate with vendors and RBE team, including design, prototyping, costing & usage guidelines.

• Update and maintain the VM online tools with newly developed VM guidelines.

• Consolidate feedback from stakeholders to further enhance the guideline content and scope.

• Leverage and integrate consumer insights to deliver effective consumer touchpoints and brand experiences.

• Manage and own VM budgets to maximize ROI and achieve financial plans. Track and monitor budget monthly with line manager to ensure compliance with company approved numbers.

 Competency Requirements:

Behavioral Competencies -

• Bachelor BS/BA degree in Visual Merchandising, Design, or related disciplines

• Strong project management skill

• Ability to adapt to changing business needs.

• High level of attention to detail

• Able to work under pressure with multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

• Bold and creative thinking

• Good command of written and spoken English and Mandarin

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects at the same time.

Experience

Minimum Relevant Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in fashion industry, street fashion preferred

Minimum Supervisory Experience: 5 years of experience

Academic Qualifications

Minimum Degree Held: University Degree in marketing or communication.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluent in English, Chinese or any Asian Languages

Specific Working Conditions:

  • Frequency of Travel: As required
