Amazon Audit Risk Specialist, Global Corporate Procurement Controllership in Shanghai, China

Amazon is seeking an Audit Risk Specialist for the Global Corporate Procurement Controllership Team. This position will support controllership and compliance for AWS.

In this role you will closely work with your internal team, legal, Accounts Payable and Vendor Managers as well as various internal and external teams to safe guard Amazon’s assets through audit and self-inspection processes. The person in this role will manage the Global Procurement Audit Program and is responsible for identifying contract to actual variances as well as driving risk related projects to the various stakeholders within Amazon - specifically in the areas of process design, internal control effectiveness, and other relevant areas to ensure that processes within Global Corporate Procurement stay ahead of risks.

This role has a broad scope which includes vendor selection audit, PO audit, receiving validation and audit, payment validation and audit, data analytics, process risk assessment and providing remediation plans. In addition, you are expected to drive process level consistency and efficiency across different business teams. You must be able to understand complex business processes and technology to identify the full range of risks that could be exploited.

You should be able to identify procurement related risks and provide impact analysis, root cause analysis, potential abuse action and potential investigations if it involves fraud behaviors. You must prioritize findings and recommendations in tune with our corporate strategy.

You must be an excellent writer who can succinctly communicate complicated audit issues in business terms. You must be a strong project manager and conduct your own audits from beginning to end, often managing multiple projects at once.

This position will be based in Shanghai.

Key job responsibilities

Validate and audit key control points are properly operated as designed surrounding Procurement process including vendor sourcing, requisition, selection, contracting, PO management, receiving, invoice, and payments. Identify issues from the process and track the root cause with business stakeholders.

Support a process of continuous audit/ self-inspection to identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels. Seek contract to actual variances and instill repeatable, scalable and defect preventable solutions into the processes.

Interact and build formidable relationships with customers and system owners.

Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs and controllership risks versus technical constraints.

Foster constructive and pro-active communication across organizational boundaries

Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities

Basic Qualifications

· Associates degree with strong business sense or

· 3+ years of experience with auditing, risk management, logistics, procurement, or project management.

· Strong written and spoken English language skills

Preferred Qualifications

Leadership Preferred Qualifications:

· Results-oriented – ability to motivate, influence, and manage diverse teams

· Willingness to dive deep into your own audits combined with experience collaborating on a team.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will prepare reports and make presentations to senior level management. You will interact with various levels of employees to collect and communicate information.

· A fast learner who can quickly absorb the nuances and behaviors of Amazon's systems architecture.

· Strong analytical skills. Proven history of analyzing data and situations to identify meaningful observations.

· Results oriented, high energy, self-motivated

Functional Procurement Audit and Technology Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with CNGS products and services

· Experience implementing finance or procurement systems

· Big 4 accounting or consulting firm experience

· Experience in Logistic or Supply Chain Management areas

· Experience with process assessment and improvement (e.g., Kaizen, six sigma)
