Rahr Malting Co. is seeking a Director, Craft Sales for its Shakopee, Minnesota office. Job Duties: Lead the sourcing of international, regional, and national raw materials in early stages of development, with value added attributes to Rahr Malting Commercial strategic goals. Create an optimal barley variety selection structure and mechanism for Rahr Malting businesses. Lead commercial projects in collaboration with the Rahr Technical Center, Agronomy and R&D teams, which include barley variety trials in the Midwest, selection, and seed-to-industry incrementation plans according to commercial demand. Based on commercial projects, advise the U.S. and Canadian barley procurement teams regarding optimal barley varieties for Rahr's business. Help the executive management team with forecasting and sales planning. Develop and track pricing and margin strategies for bulk malt sales into the craft beer and distilling sector. Advise and support Rahr sales teams on commercial efforts for sale of produced bulk and bag malt to the craft beer and overall distilling sector. Liaise with U.S. and Canada barley procurement teams and assist in position management and contracting. Develop a long-term plan to consolidate and integrate the teams managing customer service, bulk logistics, and trans-load functions of Rahr Malting and Brewer's Supply Group into one combined cost center entity. Lead implementation of plan once approved by executive management. This position requires only little domestic and international travel as is customary for the occupation.
