Ohio Farmers Insurance Company Personal Lines Account Examiner in Seville, Ohio

The Personal Lines Account Examiner handles initial underwriting activities of processing and premium generation, analyzes coverage for new and renewal business within Personal Lines. The role obtains information from clients/agents, processes, evaluate requests, and provide underwriting support for various P&C products. The role also ensures renewal coding, correct classification, and agency support activities. Supports the company's goals of premium growth, policy retention, premium adequacy, and customer satisfaction. Evaluates and updates policy information, such as quote support, policy coding, coverage review, error corrections and identifies opportunities for premium growth and adheres to service level commitments. Evaluates, makes decisions on, and processes policy new business applications, endorsements, and renewals for personal lines. Sets up new business or renews business applications, coordinates with underwriters for timely quotes, and reviews quotes for accuracy. Analyzes investigative reports on customers, reviews, and acts on estimates of coverage gaps, statements of value, and other important underwriting information. Identifies and addresses coverage issues and potential fraud and follows guidelines for completion of reporting forms. Gathers outstanding information from agents and customers, manages instructions for orders, and investigates claims for potential recovery through negotiation, arbitration, or litigation. Manages defense counsel by implementing effective litigation management strategies, including developing a case agenda to hold counsel accountable during the entire file lifecycle. Maintains and strengthens existing relationships with agency personnel, collaborates with other Westfield teams and assists the Legal department with reviews and responses. Follows best practices guidelines, manages reserves with proper documentation, provides accurate claim and policy information to claimants and develops case-specific agendas to hold counsel accountable throughout the life cycle of a claim file. Renders decisions on disability extension requests and traumatic injury claims and analyzes first reports to determine the nature of loss, coverage, and scope of damage. Works within agency management systems to complete policy acquisition for transfer business, sales center service, password recovery, and back-office support. Stays updated on territory issues and regulations, industry activity and trends, internal processes, and procedures, and share this information with team members. 0-2 years of Insurance Underwriting experience. High School Diploma or GED and/or commensurate work experience.
