Ohio Farmers Insurance Company Associate Data Analyst in Seville, Ohio

The Data Associate Analyst, working under direct supervision, plays a critical role in supporting the development and maintenance of business intelligence solutions that enable data analysis and decision-making at the organization. The role extracts/prepares data and provides reporting and analytics on assigned projects of low complexity. The role also identifies potential data and sources of data, and selects the appropriate option(s) to meet business requirements. The role drives clarity of business requirements and also partners with other analysts, members of business units, and IT to perform data analysis, data profiling, data sourcing, and data requirements gathering. Analyzes data sets, identifies trends, and develops data models to support data-driven decision-making which includes data mining, statistical analysis, and visualization of data. Creates and maintains documentation related to data analysis, data models, and data mapping which includes creating technical documentation, user manuals, and training materials. Manages small data-related projects, including defining project scope, creating project plans, and tracking project progress. Stays up to date with the latest trends and best practices in data analysis and data management and attends conferences, training sessions, and other events to stay current on the latest tools and techniques. Identifies potential data and sources of data and selects the appropriate option(s) to meet business requirements. Gains a fundamental understanding of quantitative and/or qualitative analysis to start identifying impacts and begin formulating ideas and options. Identifies opportunities for improvement of processes and supports process improvement efforts and creates and maintains accurate procedure documentation and reference materials. Performs data analysis, data profiling, and data sourcing utilizing knowledge of data definitions, domain values, data relationships, business rules, data sources, and the enterprise-integrated data environment. Gathers and documents functional and non-functional data requirements and creates, updates, and validates source-to-target mapping documents. Analyzes and identifies data quality concerns or cleansing opportunities to correct data quality anomalies and facilitate a resolution between technical, business, and other stakeholders. 0-2 years of overall experience in Data Science and Analytics or a related field. Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field and/or commensurate work experience.
