Emerson Resident Field Service Engineer in SEREGNO, Italy

By Joining us as a Field Service Resident Engineer, your role will be to support one of our customers at site by delivering activities required for maintenance, solving and incident resolution, technical support, system upgrade, warranty services, training, small configuration and/or modifications, on call services to DeltaV DCS/SIS. You will become part of our Lifecycle Services team, which helps our customers carry out maintenance, improve reliability and boost performance of their DeltaV systems.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Keeping up to date with the latest developments and specializing in certain technologies and/or products for which you will be completing services; for example Virtualization, DeltaV Upgrades (physical and virtualized), Backup & Recovery, System Health, Monitoring, Patch Management, Endpoint Security, DeltaV configuration and graphics, SIS, etc.

  • Perform tasks for system maintenance and performance evaluations.

  • Provide technical support to customers. Lead in investigation and responsible for resolution of system related customer complaints and reported problems

  • Be able and willing to perform on-call shift based services (if applicable) and emergency call-out services to provide customers with fast and efficient services.

  • Work closely with Long Term Service Agreement Program Manager to meet requirements and overall Control system performance.

  • Complete Service tasks in accordance with Service Management Office guidelines and certifications.

  • Adhere to the company’s and customer HSEQ (Safety) standards at all times

  • Project support: Assist in design studies, H/W & S/W upgrades & modifications. Perform system acceptance tests, installation, commissioning, training, fault analysis and rectification work at customer sites and installations.

  • Proactively identify Service/Product opportunities and assist in their pursuit

  • Carrying out work on Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)

  • Providing on-site customer training in the application, service and operation of Emerson products

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in an engineering field, such as mechanical / electrical, computer science, or control systems (Minimum technical College level) preferred.

  • Experience in process industry such as Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Refineries.

  • Experience in DCS application (knowledge of DeltaV DCS being an advantage) preferred.

  • Good communications skills and fluent in Italian and English – written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Knowledge on Information technology (IT) & Networking, Cyber Security, cloud computing, Virtualization, programming software, Operating Systems, Active Directory, Patch Management, Backup and Recovery is an advantage.

  • Technical competencies (electrical/electronic, power), Field Buses knowledge (Modbus, Fieldbus, Profibus, etc.).

  • Availability to work non-office hours, occasionally including weekends, to support customer and perform call-out services.

  • Driving license for car.
