Amazon Sr. Partner Development Manager, Partner Management in Seoul, South Korea

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

As an AWS Telco Partner Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving the adoption and growth of AWS services within the telecommunications industry. You will work closely with strategic telco partners, service providers, system integrators and ISVs to identify and develop new business opportunities, drive revenue growth, and enable partners to build and deliver innovative solutions on AWS.

Key job responsibilities

Partner Engagement and Development: Engage with key telco partners to understand their business objectives, technology roadmaps, and industry challenges. Develop and nurture strategic relationships to drive AWS adoption and enable partners to build and deliver innovative solutions on AWS.

Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities by leveraging the unique offerings that Telcos have. Work closely with partners to develop go-to-market strategies, co-selling motions, and joint value propositions to drive revenue growth and customer acquisition.

Solution Architecture: Collaborate with partners and AWS technical teams to design, architect, and deploy cloud-based solutions tailored to the unique requirements of the telco industry. Provide technical guidance and best practices to ensure successful implementation and scalability.

Partner Enablement: Develop and deliver partner enablement programs, including training, workshops, and certifications, to upskill and empower partners in leveraging AWS services and solutions effectively.

Industry Advocacy: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes within the telco sector. Represent AWS at industry events, conferences, and forums, and advocate for AWS solutions and best practices.

Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal AWS teams, such as Sales, Solutions Architects, and Professional Services, to align efforts and ensure seamless partner and customer experience.

A day in the life

Partner Meetings and Calls: A significant portion of the day is dedicated to engaging with key telco partners, service providers, and system integrators. This can include virtual meetings, on-site visits, or conference calls to discuss ongoing projects, identify new opportunities, provide technical guidance, and address any challenges or concerns.

Business Development Activities: The PDM spends time researching and identifying potential new partners or customers within the telco industry. This may involve market research, analyzing industry trends, attending industry events, or networking with industry professionals to uncover new business opportunities.

Partner Enablement and Training: Conducting partner enablement sessions, workshops, or training programs to upskill and empower partners in leveraging AWS services and solutions effectively.

Internal Collaboration and Meetings: Participating in internal meetings with AWS teams such as Sales, Solutions Architects, and Professional Services to align on partner strategies, share updates, and ensure seamless coordination across teams.

Industry Research and Knowledge Sharing: Staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes within the telco sector. This may involve reading industry publications, attending webinars or conferences, and sharing knowledge with internal teams and partners.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience developing, leading, negotiating and executing corporate and/or business transactions

  • Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience with technology transformation initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations

  • Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

  • 3+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience

  • MBA
