Introduction

The GlobalFoundries Field application Engineering (FAE) team is responsible for providing direct technical and TO support to our customers’ design teams using our design enablement solutions and tools for our advanced CMOS/Mature CMOS/RF platform and derivative technologies. Technical design supporting includes answering questions, creating and delivering training, debugging issues and understanding new customer needs and working with our internal teams to build solutions. Technical project management supporting includes end to end customer technical requirements program management, driving customer technical engagement and meetings, tape out milestone control and form submission, ensuring high quality TO on time.

GF's internal teams rely on FAE to be the voice of the customer when working on PDK tool / solution improvements - providing input to the plan and testing / feedback prior to final solution delivery to our customers.

Problem solving and personal communication skills are used heavily. This position offers direct customer interaction.

Introduction

Serve as technical program interface window in Field Application Engineering Team, the role is customer-facing on technical and tapeout supporting. Support Korea customers to ensure smooth tapeout in Globalfoundries.

Your Job

• Serve as a single technical interface to customers and coordinate all tapeout technical interaction with internal tapeout center (Singapore and US), and support DRC, DFM discussion, and etc.

• Work closely with TPS (Technical Pre-Sales) to resolve issues / obstacles / questions either directly or by engaging with GF internal experts.

• Co-work with TPS on documenting and aligning with customer and internal stakeholders on product requirements end-to-end (including post Fab / turnkey) and roadmaps. And, support TPS on wafer and post-fab configuration for Design Win.

• Responsible for aligning customer mature and advanced node tapeout readiness preparation, ex. export control form, IP declaration form, frame table, and etc..

• Own and support any new requirement or enablement identified during design, ensure customer – GF alignment working with SBU and stakeholders (ROI/ value proposition closure - e.g. IP, PPA, solution questions post-DWIN, etc.)

• Offer most credible representation of strengths and weaknesses of the GLOBALFOUNDRIES tapeout process flow (internally & externally)

• Identify and propose solutions to close gaps and bottlenecks in the GLOBALFOUNDRIES tapeout system flow and make customer tapeout success.

• Ensure that issues/obstacles/questions to a tapeout are resolved either directly or by engaging internal process experts.

• Support CE (Customer Engineer) on all post-TO activities and requirements.

• Co-ordinate with customer around Si functionality verification, product performance, design margin and any issues

• Lead customer design reviews and mock TOs, and responsible for identifying and aligning on all MPW / test chip requirements prior to product design and TO.

• Ensure all customer requirements are understood, aligned with TPM, and are reflected in the TO activity as necessary.

• Own / Collaborate with TOD on all tapeout logistics / execution

• Accountable for TOR target, awards and execution

  Required Qualifications

• Degree or Bachelor in Engineering related field

• 4 years experience in similar range

• Excellent communication skills

• Strong analytical, technical and presentation skills

• Fluent English and Korean speaking required.
