Johnson & Johnson Innovation (“JJI”) is recruiting an Associate Finance Manager, JLABS Korea. This dynamic and fast paced role will provide strategic business partner support and lead financial support with a focus budget management, financial reporting & forecasting, business partner operations support, compliance, and support for strategic projects. The Associate Finance Manager will be responsible for collaborating with business partners and other functional expert teams (including Finance, Legal, HCC, Tax) in the execution of various business strategies.

Candidate should have familiarity with accounting policies, be intellectually curious, able to think strategically, comfortable with ambiguity and have a proven track record of effective business partnering and communication as well as time management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial leadership and strategic partnering to JLABS Korea

  • Build and maintain trusted business partnerships within a global matrixed/virtual environment, and across multiple levels.

  • Proactively engage in transparent communication and timely information sharing with business partners.

  • Utilize best practices for the application of financial and technical accounting principles, analytics, and financial platforms/dashboards to support business decisions.

  • Develop and implement best practice financial control procedures that ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.

  • Ensure flawless Government Payment Portal management (eNaraDoum)

  • Proactively identify the regulatory requirements, collect evidence, and upload lawful evidence onto the portal. i.e., vendor payment/credit card payment/payroll payment/other payment request with evidence (contract, tax Invoice, vendor bank detail, etc.)

  • Proactively communicate with Local JLABS employees/Payroll team for expense request

  • Manage communication with Government Portal team related to Vendor information, Bank details and evidence.

  • Manage Treasury related support for Grant bank account (OTP, ID/PW)

  • Ensure flawless & timely SAP Booking (Daily/Monthly expense transaction Booking)

  • Expense JE creation including GL/Cost Center coding

  • Secure eligible evidence to each financial transaction by actively communicating with JJI-JLABS teams (in Korea, U.S., and other affiliates) and other stakeholders

  • Attach eligible evidence and Send JE to GS (Global Service) process team for the necessary transaction postings

  • Communicate with GS (Global Service) process PIC for JE processing (General Accounting/Intercompany)

  • Rigorously review Cost Center report

  • Check each SAP transaction with subsidy bank account transactions

  • Reclass expenses if there is wrong allocation (Depreciation, Rent, benefit, etc.)

  • Conduct monthly audits on all JLABS Korea expenses and report to JLABS Finance

  • Communicate with JLABS Finance and relevant J&J finance functions (Controllership, Treasury, Tax, CFM, GS Compliance and etc.) and resolve issue

  • Audit preparation & engagement

  • Equip with 1) all Korea government regulations in managing this JLABS Korea financial transactions and 2) J&J internal accounting policy

  • Rigorously ensure readiness for future audits from the various government agencies and engage with auditors

  • Lead & review Annual Audit Financial Statement preparation

  • Others

  • Attend Expense request training from the government agencies

  • Provide Expense management training to JLABS employees (Eligible evidence types, etc.)

  • Set up Initial Internal processes to enable JLABS Korea program with various stakeholders including GS, Payroll, Treasury, and government agencies

  • Manage and review Grant Credit Card application & usage (Issue, discard, etc.)

  • Process PO’s and check requests

  • Support ad-hoc project and audit requests

Qualifications - External

Ÿ Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or Accounting with minimum of 10 years total finance professional experience.

Ÿ Government audit engagement experience. Government Grant management experience preferred. If not, Tax, Customs, FSS (Financial Supervisory Service) audit experience required.

Ÿ Above 5 years of experience in working with audit firms or multinational companies is preferred.

Ÿ Local CPA/ACCA/CMA or other equivalent certificates is preferred

Ÿ Advanced knowledge of Excel, PPT, data analysis and reporting. Experience of working with SAP system is preferred

Ÿ Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and ability to work and collaborate with teams across different functions

Ÿ Ability to bring clarity to complex business issues and deliver success in managing complex projects & processes in a timely manner

Ÿ Strong verbal and written communication skills in English with ability to confidently present complex information to the organization

Ÿ Strong collaboration, influencing & change management skills
