Summary of Job Description:
As the strategic technology partner to the GM and Affiliate Management Team you will be directing the Digital and Data solutions strategy, ensuring its alignment with business priorities. You must define and manage BTS required investment and embed it across the business.
As the BTS Lead you will act as a strategic thought partner executing aligned technology strategies in a complex environment using analytical aptitude, with the ability to quickly understand business performance drivers and their impact. You will play an active role in brand teams and will support shape and identify current and emerging business needs to leverage existing technology solutions, align with business stakeholders and global BTS teams to balance short term and long-term objectives. You will need to work across AbbVie business functions and BTS organizations, within the region and across international, to negotiate and secure the availability of resources (people, funding, demand) to meet the demands of the Affiliate/Enterprise. When applicable, delivering agreed upon solutions on time, within scope, and maintain local Tech Solutions complying to AbbVie Policies and market regulations.
You will support the alignment and implementation of the Affiliate’s BTS operating model to maximize business outcomes and identify opportunities for delivering innovative technical and digital capabilities, in partnership with the area’s wider BTS Geo teams and Central Teams.
Major Responsibilities:
• Acts as a Strategic leader in the affiliate providing guidance and consultancy on how the technology ecosystem can drive business outcomes. Leads technology related decisions at the affiliate and works with Geo Teams and Central Teams to enable capabilities based on technology roadmap, affiliate needs and priorities, in alignment with the Enterprise strategy.
• Contributes actively to affiliate strategy and business capability strategic planning. Ensures integration with the enterprise’s strategic planning process, and the resulting business strategy and plans.
• Enables the affiliate Digital transformation based on business ambition and maximizes global ecosystem to drive a stable and optimized technology environment to achieve business outcomes.
• Leads and directs the adoption and leveraging of the global digital and data ecosystem and strategic capabilities, enabling value through technology and innovation.
• Establishes active relationships with key business stakeholders to act as a trusted advisor about the application of technology within their units and across the affiliate.
• Identify business needs and opportunities and provide technical solutions to address them ensuring maximum leverage of global/area available solutions, enhancing business outcomes. Provide robust business cases for each new initiative proposed to the Geo Team so it can be properly prioritized.
• Define with key stakeholders the affiliate’s solutions roadmap, aligning it to the GeoTeams and Global priorities. Co-creates the development of the affiliate BTS strategic plan at global, area and local level.
• Ensures BTS capabilities are delivered reliably, sustainably, cost effectively and securely, and liaises with the area’s Geo teams for this. Ensures all solutions delivered are in alignment, from design, with local regulations, compliance and security standards.
• Manages Application and Project Portfolio of the affiliate in alignment with the area Geo Teams and Global BTS Organization. Identifies efficiencies opportunities, creates and executes strategic initiatives for continuous improvement, tracks and enhances success metrics. Ensures operational excellence.
• In support of the enterprise mission establishes the operating model for affiliates, in close partnership with the BTS Geo teams, to foster business-oriented and digital-ready culture, mindsets, and practices.
• Supports the implementation of the affiliate BTS operating model, organizational structure, and governance process, following unified standards. Makes connections across the enterprise, cluster and area to drive synergies and enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in achievement of business goals.
• Stays current with new external technologies and platforms and the enterprise technology portfolio to provide direction on what emerging technologies should be assimilated, integrated, and introduced that enable the retirement of legacy systems.
• Develops and controls the Affiliate’s BTS budget together with the Geo teams, ensuring the technology investment is consistent with the affiliates overall strategic objectives and is within plan.
• Participates and partners with the business leadership team to drive culture change in support of digital business transformation.
• Manages talent, where applicable, across the BTS team with a continuous learning mindset, ensuring capacity aligned to demand and workload and encourages growth and development.
• Leads the establishment and execution of a digital workplace strategy that enables the development of digital dexterity in the workforce. Ensures employees have the tools and work environment to be more engaged, productive, and effective.
Responsible of team size of 1-2 direct reports

Application Portfolio Management (5-20 local apps)
Project Portfolio Management (10-15 local projects + global initiatives),
Demand and Capacity Management
Information risk management and Security Management
Local vendor management.
Stakeholder engagement
Part of Affiliate Management Team.
Local change management and Value realization for enabled capabilities.
Qualifications
Experience Required:
• 5-8 years or more of experience in either business areas or within BTS.
• +2 years of leadership responsibilities. Preferably in related, industry-leading, large, cross-functional teams or enterprise-wide programs, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
• Demonstrated experience in strategy and strategic planning, organization design and development.
• Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading large, complex and or transformational initiatives in dynamic environments and taking advantage of digital opportunities to innovate business models and enable the digitalization of the business
Knowledge / Education Required:
• Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree or equivalent work experience
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate vision that inspires and motivates staff and lead the strategy execution
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business partners
• Strong business acumen, including industry, domain-specific knowledge of an enterprise and its business units
• Effective influencing and negotiation skills in a complex multinational environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role.
• Good understanding of current and emerging technologies and how they may be applied to the commercial affiliate to drive digital business
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategic people plan that ensures that the right people are in the right roles at the right time and that employees are highly engaged and satisfied.
• Ability to partner with geographically diverse teams and overcome the culture clashes that may arise
• Ability to identify and leverage resources internally and externally to the affiliate to enhance capabilities that drive digital business
• Expertise in budget planning and financial management
