OBJECTIVES/ PURPOSE OF JOB

The APAC Shared Service Lead will be responsible for effectively leading and managing the finance operations within our Shared Service Center. This role involves supervising an entire team consisting of an Accounts Receivable Manager, an Accounts Payable Manager, and an Accounting and Reporting Manager, and their respective teams. The Shared Service Lead will be the pre-eminent point of contact for all high-level financial and operational matters within the center.

KEY ACTIVITIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, direct and manage the daily operations of the Shared Service Center strategically, fostering synergy between the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments

  • They will ensure the implementation and adherence to a tight control environment which abides by the company's previously defined internal control framework

  • Provide leadership to the team, promoting a continuous improvement culture for achieving greater process efficiency and effectiveness

  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Reporting functions, monitoring timeliness and accuracy, and ensuring compliance with standard accounting procedures and company policies

  • Monitor the accuracy of all financial transactions regularly and ensure adherence to reporting deadlines by implementing necessary controls and checks for maintaining high standards

  • Implement improvements to financial processes and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

  • Inspire, guide, and mentor both the AR, AP Managers, and Accounting and Reporting Manager, offering necessary direction and support to overcome operational challenges and meet performance targets

  • Resolve escalated customer and vendor issues swiftly and effectively, ensuring the preservation of strong business relationships

  • Coordinate training and mentoring initiatives for the team, cultivating a learning environment, and promoting career progression and skill development

  • Forecasting and setting the budget for all SSC teams

EXPERIENCE

  • BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field (MS/MBA preferred)

  • 10+ years of relevant experience

  • 5+ years in a people management role

  • English & Chinese required

  • Experience managing a new team in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Highly detail-oriented and able to work under tight deadlines

  • Customer service-oriented, with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of cash application software and accounting systems is a plus

  • Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written
