Charlie's Produce Oregon Division is seeking a Transportation Supervisor with the skills needed to help steer our large fleet of drivers on the road to excellence. With over 45 years' experience delivering nourishment to communities across the West coast, Charlie's Produce is a leading produce distributor to restaurants, grocery stores, institutions, and wholesalers. As the Transportation Supervisor, you will directly assist our Transportation Manager in ensuring the efficient, safe, and timely delivery of our products while navigating the complexities of state and federal regulations in an ever-changing business landscape. Supervisory responsibilities include scheduling, training, policy implementation, and performance management. This position will also assist with coordinating the daily operations of the department, upholding company safety standards, maintaining compliance and standards of conduct. Provide driver support and resolve unexpected problems to ensure operation goals are met with the highest regard for customer service. Maintain efficiency of processes in a fast-paced team environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Route management - fixed route maintenance, territory planning, and same day adjustments Route tracking to insure sequencing and flow are optimal and consistent for driver success Spreadsheet maintenance Dispatching as needed Plan manpower needs and future scheduling New driver onboarding and training DOT Policy implementation Driver performance management Schedule all drivers and manager re-schedules for sick/absent drivers Audit driver logs and review driver pre-check lists Coordinate back hauls and pick-ups Coordinate maintenance of all equipment Communicate and relay information to internal departments regarding any issues Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary Qualifications Desired Minimum Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in a transportation supervision or lead role Proficient knowledge and understanding of DOT regulations Extensive knowledge of Oregon roads and highways for route planning Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, bi-lingual a plus (Spanish) Intermediate Word and Excel skills for correspondence and reporting duties/pivot tables Intermediate MS Outlook skills for regular communication with crew Intermediate verbal communication skills Must be able to assist a diverse work force and communicate clearly with various levels of management Charlie's Produce is the largest privately owned produce wholesalers on the West Coast.
