This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-liftorbital launch vehicle capable ofroutinelycarrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar,and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designedfrom the beginningto be human-capable. A Technical Designer develops, maintains, submits for release engineering drawings, systems designs and/or engineering documentation and data by applying company, industry, and governmental standards. Applies design/development tools to prepare documentation and incorporate design changes and maintains systems designs by preparing design layouts, modifying existing designs and assisting in identifying design discrepancies. The Technical Designer supports engineering system design and functional validation activities. Responsibilities: Perform design and maintenance of fluid components & system definition by preparing design layouts and drawings, modifying existing designs and resolving design discrepancies. Coordinate fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new or modified systems at any Blue Origin site. Apply Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly. Experience creating fabrication and installation drawings using ProE/Creo. Apply company and industry (design, drafting, parts) techniques to plan, lay-out, and maintain data depicting engineering designs (detail, assembly and installation drawings or datasets). Minimum Qualifications: Extensive experience with ProEngineer /Creo with Windchill Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B31.3 Experience in design and analysis of piping/tubing systems. Knowledge of standard components, installation, and fabrication methods of piping systems (pipe stock, fittings, connections, valves, fasteners, structural members, fitting, welding etc.) Knowledge of fluid components typical in tubing and piping systems (valves, regulators, pumps etc.) Experience with ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41 Familiar with existing applicable and industry drafting standards. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
