Technical Assistance Consultant, Education Systems & Policy Job Location US-Remote | US-VA-Arlington | US-NC-Chapel Hill | US-Chicago | US-MD-Columbia | US-MD-Rockville | US-WA-Seattle | US-MA-Waltham Job ID 13021 Job Location United States Category Technical Assistance Overview AIR's Education Systems & Policy program area is seeking a part-time Technical Assistance Consultant to support and lead tasks as part of AIR's technical assistance for state education agencies and local education agencies. This position has the flexibility to be located remote within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories. Responsibilities The responsibilities for the position include: Provide training and technical assistance, facilitate professional learning communities, and provide coaching to support collaboratively defined priorities for state education agencies in the implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and in targeted efforts for pandemic recovery. Handle multiple tasks independently and simultaneously. Engage in collaborative planning with internal AIR teams and clients. Provide expertise on ESSA, state education systems and designing capacity building projects that focus on improved student outcomes and that are sustainable. Ability to apply the principles of implementation science and adult learning. Experience engaging in and leading groups through continuous improvement cycles. Ability to design and follow plans for technical assistance and capacity building projects using logic models and focusing on measuring of short, medium and long term outcomes. Provide expertise on use of data to decision making. Qualifications Education, Knowledge, and Experience: Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience or a bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of experience supporting state education agencies. Extensive knowledge in areas related to state education agency priority topics including: educator workforce issues, support for struggling schools, and the identification and use of evidence-based practices. Experience providing direct training and coaching support to state education agency staff and leaders. Expertise or experience in equity and improving outcomes for racially and linguistically diverse students Competency in using or applying data to inform decision making and measuring progress toward key outcomes. Experience working with state education agency staff, local education agency staff, and school staff. Experience working in the state level.
