RSM US LLP Tax Supervisor - Exempt Organizations in Seattle, Washington

Our Tax Exempt practice provides clients with tax guidance and planning related to protecting tax-exempt status, preparing and/or reviewing tax returns for exempt organizations and their taxable affiliates (990s/1120s/1065s) and related filings, including international filings as needed, IRS audit defense strategies, and other relevant tax matters. Our people work on key client issues in domestic federal taxation, with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives. Responsibilities: Provide detail review and analysis of tax returns - approximately 30- 50% of your time Work as part of a dedicated team of experienced exempt organization tax professionals Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team while managing the risk for both the client and the firm Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning, concerns, etc. Develop, motivate, and train staff level team members - approximately 10% of your time Performing, documenting, summarizing, and reviewing research conclusions regarding specific tax issues - approximately 10% of your time Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law Other duties as assigned Some travel may be required Basic Qualifications: BA/BS Degree - preferably in Accounting or related field of study Minimum of 4 years of experience in a public accounting environment Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax service requirements Comprehensive understanding of tax law/rules and implications Experience preparing and reviewing returns Effective verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Masters of Accounting CPA, JD, LLM, or EA Experience with a national or large regional accounting firm Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation, industry specialization is a plus Experience in dealing with international tax matters a plus At RSM, we offer a competitive benefits and compensation package for all our people.
