Description
The World-Wide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is seeking a driven, talented, and experienced business leader to develop and scale our HPC solutions which serve a wide variety of Accelerated and High Performance Computing workload across commercial and public sectors.
We are looking for a Business Development Specialist that understands scalable applications and has previous experience in HPC, accelerated computing, high throughput computing, and workload orchestration.
This person should feel comfortable working with customers across multiple workload domains, and should be able to define and execute the strategy that addresses the computational needs for HPC customer workloads. You would use your business savvy to drive revenue, develop sales programs, and identify new customers and opportunities. You will work directly with the most interesting and demanding enterprise accounts, to understand their requirements and turn them into reality.
Working hand in hand with our product teams, sales teams, and solution architects, you will help customers leverage the scale and performance of AWS to cost-effectively solve their most challenging problems. Your background in cloud-friendly, scalable architectures will help customers understand how to scale their infrastructure on the cloud. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills will allow you build sales enablement tools, evangelize our platform with our enterprise customers, start-ups and valued partners. You must possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the Director/Senior Leadership level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers and architects.
You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and Bias for Action is a must.

This role will support exploration, incubation and growth initiatives for innovative Accelerated Computing or HPC products, solutions and constructs, across Startups, emerging workloads and customer segments.

Basic Qualifications
7+ years of business development, strategic partnerships, or program/product management experience
5+ years selling technology, preferably cloud solutions, hosted and managed services in technology industry
5+ years in an area of HPC or Accelerated Computing
Preferred Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, as well as leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations is a key.
The right person will help identify use cases and market segments and develop a go-to-market strategy to drive growth. This person will be technical and analytical, and possess significant business development, enterprise sales, or program/product management experience. Experience selling to and/or working with Fortune 1000 and/or Global 2000 organizations
Experience with cloud computing, high throughput computing, parallel computing, accelerated computing, or related fields.
Strong analytical skills, and demonstrated ability to turn detailed data analysis into useful strategic insight in order to drive customer adoption and make appropriate recommendations to the business
MBA or equivalent relevant business experience
Solid negotiation skills, and business and financial acumen
Experience with, and detailed knowledge of the support market and insights related to cloud computing and IT

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
