Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Sr. Technical Program Manager to manage data center infrastructure goals and programs, as well as manage intra-organizational customer relationships. As a Sr. Technical Program Manager (TPM) in the Central Operations Repair team in the Data Center Community (DCC), your responsibilities will focus on managing data center infrastructure service goals and may also span multiple subject areas within the data center operations space. Business-impacting projects you would be responsible for will enhance data center efficiency through automation and enhanced repair processes. The projects require timely execution with the highest degrees of safety, security, performance, availability and reliability. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated, extremely organized individual with experience in creating methodology and building value at a global scale. The role requires the ability to quickly assimilate knowledge spanning numerous technology subjects and apply this to data center projects, products and operations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Ownership of highly visible, complex, cross-functional projects, including product definition, roadmap planning, resource planning and project execution of data center projects related to AWS network services.

  • Accountability for the overall strategy as well as driving teams inside and outside of the organization to deliver.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with key owners and stakeholders across teams and organizations.

  • Hosting meetings to assemble the right people to achieve the program goals.

  • Writing crisp and clear narratives and program status reports, with the ability to communicate across different levels in the organization.

  • Being data-driven and using best data to determine program impact ad benefits to customers.

A day in the life

The Sr. TPM translates business needs into data center operational programs and initiatives in order to meet the service capacity goals across data centers wordwide. They manage infrastructure projects that enable and optimize hardware repairs and remediations through engagements with (and not limited to): Network teams, Data Center Operations (DCO), development teams, supply chain, and finance.

With DCO (Data Center Operations) as our key customer, the Central Ops Repair team is focused on reduction of operational costs and enablement of safe, secure, and efficient hardware repairs in commercial data centers worldwide.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • 5+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentations experience

  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

  • Experience in technical program management working directly with software engineering teams

  • Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering

  • Experience in using data analysis to drive data-driven decisions (e.g SQL, Excel, etc)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
