Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, Contingent Workforce in Seattle, Washington

Description

As a Senior Technical Program Manager on the Contingent Workforce team, you will work with a focused team of product managers, engineers, and partner teams building and releasing new products and features to support the engagement of third party labor. You will focus on developing an end-to-end workflow for managing contingent workers, covering the entire lifecycle from guided selection, evaluation, onboarding, to efficient management during their tenure at Amazon. The TPM will collaborate with multiple tech and program teams across Amazon; Talent Acquisition, A to Z, legal, finance, and AWS.

You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance customer and business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected.

Key job responsibilities

· Define the systems-level technical design of projects and balance near-term business needs with long term implications for Amazon

· Collaborate effectively across teams to define strategy, goals and commitment to timelines and deliverables

· Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to interface with all levels of the organization; specific strength in influencing decision

makers and managing expectations

· Work well in a team environment, collaborate with internal and external resources, gain credibility with senior management, and manage through conflict with a

positive, flexible attitude

· Recognize trends, assess potential impacts and partner with stakeholders to recommend solutions

· Drive results, gathering the voice of the customer, and balancing business needs against technical constraints.

· Deliver results when faced with ambiguous circumstances and roadblocks. Your judgment and intuition must be right, a lot, and you will be expected to know when to ask the right questions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
