Key job responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented, and hands-on Senior Technical Program Manager to identify, build and publicize solutions to enable multi-regional experiences. Using a data-driven approach to prioritization is a necessary skill due to the ambiguity of the problem space. This role is inherently cross-functional — it requires close collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Business and Executive teams.

The right person will be a highly-visible leader and will own the communication, coordination and execution of multi-year program vision. They have demonstrated experience in working with senior product and engineering leaders to define strategy and requirements. They can dive deep into technical details and ask engineers insightful questions about the services and dependencies they influence. They can clearly and concisely communicate trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.

A day in the life

• As the expert in language translations, you will assist Engineering, Product and Operations teams execute high impact programs across Amazon, innovate new solutions, and drive overall program efficiency.

• Deep-diving current processes to identify opportunities for improvement and more unified approach

• Develop standards for communication and change management

• Remove and communicate blockers to program completion

• Exercise the ability to think strategically and execute methodically

• Provide business and technical requirements to tech teams owning the systems

• Communicate data insights to stakeholders on a regularly cadence, including owning business updates to senior leadership: PRFAQ, BRD, MBR and roadmap updates

• Review and challenge data to make data driven decision with sound business judgment

We are in our initial years of truly transforming how language translations are done at the lowest cost in the most agile manner across the industry.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
