In this role, you will lead a complex portfolio of IT projects and programs aligned to Weyerhaeuser’s Corporate Functions (Finance, HR, Legal, Corporate Affairs) and Enterprise Systems (SAP COE, People Systems, Integration Services, Data Analytics, & Automation), as a member of the IT Portfolio Management Office (PMO). You will manage multiple IT projects and/or programs simultaneously and lead a team of IT Project and Program managers accountable for the planning and execution of all projects within the Enterprise Systems portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a proven track record of delivering large-scale enterprise application projects.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management:Deliver large-scale enterprise application projects and realize intended business benefits by effectively leading through standard project management and software delivery methodologies. Effectively plan, manage, and control project scope, schedule, budget, resources, issues, and risks. Advanced ability to develop business cases, understand project interdependencies, manage project resources and costs, communicate with stakeholders, and leverage the Weyerhaeuser PACE process to achieve the project's objectives.
  • Program Planning and Strategy:Lead the planning, execution, and control of large-scale IT programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and delivery of business value. Develop a program plan that outlines the scope, timelines, resource requirements, and interdependencies among projects.
  • Portfolio Management:Partner with key IT and business leaders to develop project portfolio, ensure project investments are defined, aligned to strategic objectives, prioritized into multiyear project roadmaps, and desired business outcomes are delivered.
  • Team Leadership:Provide leadership and guidance to a team of project managers (employees and contractors), ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and professional development. Foster collaboration and support professional development opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Management and Communications:Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, sponsors, project managers, external partners, and team members. Manage expectations, solve problems, and drive decisions. Create and help execute comprehensive change management strategies and communication plans.
  • Program & Project Governance:Establish program/project governance structures, frameworks, and processes to ensure effective decision-making, scope, and risk management. Including regular progress reporting, milestone tracking, and program status updates. Define roles and responsibilities for program governance committees and project teams.
  • Resource Management:Allocate and manage resources across projects within the program. Optimize resource utilization, address conflicts, and monitor resource availability to ensure project success.
  • Budget Management:Establish program and project budgets, track project spending and reforecast spending regularly throughout project lifecycle.
  • Risk and Issue Management:Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues across the program. Develop mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and escalation procedures to minimize potential disruptions and address challenges. Maintain RAID log.
  • Monitoring and Control:Implement processes to monitor and control project progress, milestones, scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables. Regularly assess project and program performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide status reports to stakeholders.
  • Change Control:Manage changes within the program, including changes in scope, requirements, or timelines. Evaluate change requests, assess their impact on the program, and communicate changes effectively to stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance:Define and implement quality standards, processes, and metrics to ensure high-quality deliverables. Conduct project / program audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement.
  • Vendor Management:Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Continuous Improvement:Identify areas for improvement based on lessons learned from completed projects. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation, process enhancements, and lessons learned to drive operational excellence.

Must Have Qualifications:

  • Education:Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience: 10 years of progressive, relevant experience in an IT Program Manager role is required. Deep experience managing moderately complex IT projects from beginning to end, meeting budget, scope, schedule, and benefits targets.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams and drive the work forward is required.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels is required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proficient at leading large to enterprise-wide highly complex projects.
  • Expert in all aspects of project management including accountability for business case development, end-to-end financial and cost analysis, risk management, and organizational change management.
  • Proficient ability to manage programs involving multiple projects including resource management, generating program-level metrics, program portfolio governance and prioritization.
  • Prior experience in an IT manager role leading a team or organization responsible for delivering IT applications, products, or services to the business
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgPM (Program Management Professional) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)is highly desirable.
  • SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) certification is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands on experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid), as well as relevant industry standards, best practices.
  • Experience with industry standard project management tools (MS project, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps) is required.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute the work in agile sprints while providing full transparency into the progress to complete the agreed upon project scope in alignment with project level milestones and deliverables is required.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, systems development life cycle (SDLC), and enterprise software implementations is required.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

Compensation:This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $135,000 - $200,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 25% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target. This position is eligible to be nominated for an annual long term incentive grant as well. The grant guideline for this position is $32k, with a range of zero to 150% of the guideline amount. The value of long term incentive grants is typically delivered in restricted stock units.

Retirement:Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation:We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
