Amazon Sr. Process Engineer, Amazon in Seattle, Washington

Description

We are looking for an exceptional Sr. Process Engineer with Lean/Six Sigma skills to help design and improve complex product development processes for Amazon Private Brands. This role is essential to our quest to build best-in-class process designs, accelerate implementation of technology advancements, and to strengthen the process acumen and process knowledge for business operations leaders across Private Brands. Product development in Private Brands is a complex and global process. Some of the steps involved in getting a product from inception to Amazon customers include product design, vendor sourcing, quality and compliance testing, logistics, and post-launch reviews to determine what product to bring to customers next.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, launch and improve self-service workflows for a broad range of stakeholder teams.

  • Operate as a Subject Matter Expert on Amazon’s internal workflow engine to develop efficient workflows.

  • Engage with software development teams to understand, implement, and guide evolving program technology.

  • Deep dive technical product or operational issues to propose and implement simple and effective solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any discipline) or foreign equivalent or a related field, or 5+ years process engineering experience.

  • Expertise in designing complex processes. This should also include an in-depth knowledge in designing and implementing virtual workflow systems.

  • Hands on experience mapping workflows, such as creating and using BPMN process diagrams and/or value stream maps.

  • Experience with process design and based on Lean Principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering (any discipline) or foreign equivalent, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in the specialty

  • Experience with Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Management Science, Economics, Modeling and related areas.

  • Never satisfied with the status quo.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
