Do you want to help define the future of Generative AI (GenAI) on AWS by leveraging your deep domain knowledge in applied sciences? You will be part of the core worldwide Generative AI models team, responsible for integrating your applied science expertise with customer engagements to deliver GenAI solutions on AWS. You will collaborate closely with customers, 3rd party model providers, and internal teams to understand their GenAI challenges and provide insights that meet their specific needs within the GenAI domain.

The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. Key job responsibilities

As an Applied Scientist Specialist, Gen AI you will play a crucial role in expanding the third party models portfolio on AWS by facilitating the seamless integration and benchmarking of new 3rd party models. You will leverage your deep applied science knowledge to engage with customers and providers at a high level of technical depth, providing insights and solutions tailored to their GenAI requirements. Additionally, you will advocate for and implement well-architected system designs for GenAI applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

You will continuously update your knowledge of the GenAI ecosystem, AWS services, and best practices through research and solution building, maintaining a competitive edge and high technical bar. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with customers and providers, engaging at a high level of technical depth to understand and address their GenAI challenges, and advocating for and implementing scientifically rigorous system designs for GenAI applications.

This role requires a strong background in applied sciences, coupled with a deep understanding of GenAI models, frameworks, and applications. You should be passionate about staying ahead of industry trends and technological advancements, and be willing to contribute to the team's research efforts.

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience

  • 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience

  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language

  • Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.

  • Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $260,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
