Amazon Software Development Engineer, PartiQL in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer to work on the internal and open source products of the PartiQL team. This is a challenging position with broad impact and visibility across Amazon.

This team owns PartiQL, Amazon's open source SQL-compatible query language and reference implementation. PartiQL enables querying data in a format and data store independent way. The PartiQL team has the freedom to design new solutions that will influence all of Amazon. This is a great opportunity for growth given the visibility of your program across Amazon along with the Principals and Distinguished Engineers supporting us.

As a Software Development Engineer on the PartiQL Team, you will shape Amazon’s future by expanding the PartiQL libraries and tools. The PartiQL Team develops open source libraries, frameworks, and techniques to operate on structured, semi-structured, and nested data. Our software is foundational and is in use by teams in Consumer and AWS. Your role will be to add new features, optimize performance, and ensure PartiQL meets the future needs of our customers. Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
