Amazon Software Dev Engineer II, AWS Applications in Seattle, Washington

Description

AWS Applications and Higher Level Abstractions (Apps) provides horizontal and industry vertical applications for business users with the same on-demand scalability, reliability, pay-as-you-go pricing, and machine learning expertise that drive AWS services. The AWS Applications group includes services such as Amazon Connect (a cost-effective cloud contact center), our End User Computing (including Amazon Workspaces, AppStream, etc.), Marketing Tech (Amazon Pinpoint), and Autonomous Checkout and Biometric Identity Services (Just Walk Out, Amazon One) for retail, sports, travel, and other verticals.

Are you interested in building a new AWS product for external customers? AWS Solutions team is looking for a seasoned software development engineer to play a key role in building a 0 to 1 product that enhances hybrid collaboration using AI. You will own full stack application architecture, performance engineering and launch the product to next stage.

Much like the story of AWS, we initially solved Amazon’s own internal customer problem. From that first-hand experience, we realized that this product can also significantly improve the way people collaborate and is in high demand by external customers as well. Leveraging AWS’ scale, reliability, flexibility, and ease of use, we will offer customers an easy-to-manage and cost-effective solution that solves many of these pain points.

Key job responsibilities

As a SDE-2 on our team, you’ll -

  • Help leading the team's end-to-end development, from requirements to implementation, and work closely with senior technical leaders across the org. You’ll have a sound understanding of computer science fundamentals and practical industry experience, working across the stack.

  • Build rapid prototypes for gathering customer feedback and iteratively build robust and scalable solutions by working backwards from customer and business needs.

  • Mentor junior engineers on the team.
