$10,000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible part-time new employees joining UW Medicine UW Medical Center-Montlake - Radiation Oncology has an outstanding opportunity for a Part Time Registered Nurse .

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Monday - Friday, with some call responsibilities on weekends

  • Day shifts

  • RNs work a mix of 3 day workweeks and 4 day workweeks; the exact days worked may vary each week

  • Position is part time / 70% FTE DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Radiation Oncology provides care to patients of all ages - including pediatric patients - who are undergoing radiation therapy for cancer. Our radiation therapy services have been consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s best. POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Provide life-changing treatment for cancer patients

  • Work a flexible schedule in a position offering work-life balance PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates closely with the Nurse Manager to triage and prioritize patient needs

  • Serves in a roving role, addressing emergent situations as they arise throughout the shift

  • Supports multiple providers

  • Provides short-term and long-term staffing coverage when other RNs are on leave

  • Educates patients and their families on symptom management

  • Assists in complex care coordination and continuity of care referrals

  • Supports patients undergoing TBI prior to transplant

  • Documents patient care outcomes in our EHR system (Epic)

  • Performs phone triage

  • Answers patient calls and eCare messages

  • Monitors patient flow in the clinic REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 years of recent oncology, medical-surgical, or ambulatory nursing experience

  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State

  • Active BLS

  • Must be willing to work with pediatric patients
