Responsibilities
This position supports front line staff in revenue operations, will proficiently perform duties as outlined in one of the following areas: Medical Claims Support Rep, Support Specialist (PAS), Mail Clerk, Collection Assistant, Secondary Billing, Senior Support Specialist (PAS).
- MEDICAL CLAIMS SUPPORT REP
a. Sort and mail paper claims for the Medical Claims Representatives to the appropriate insurance carriers.
b. Sort all mail and distribute or process as appropriate.
- SUPPORT SPECIALIST (PAS)
a. Document correspondence by keying into computer.
b. Respond to attorney requests for information
c. Print out itemized bills, claim forms and other requested information.
d. Pull documents from batches and copy them.
e. Perform miscellaneous tasks such as filing, putting refund checks in envelopes and screening microfiche.
- MAIL CLERK
a. Open, scan and route daily external/internal mail.
b. Distribute and collect mail between floors.
c. Open and scan lock box cash applications in search of checks.
- COLLECTION ASSISTANT
a. Research and file bankruptcy claims.
b. Open and distribute incoming mail, bundle outgoing mail for mailcenter pickup.
c. Request credit bureau reports and medical records
d. Maintain machines in an operational state.
e. Skip tracing
f. Correct registrations and remailing of statements.
g. Perform filing as necessary.
- SECONDARY BILLING
a. Print claims for system created secondary EOB’s
b. Sort and mail paper claims for the Medical Claims Representatives to the appropriate insurance carriers.
c. Respond to patient requests for secondary insurance billing. Audit invoices, print claims, pull EOB’s and mail to carriers.
- SENIOR SUPPORT SPECIALIST (PAS)
a. Identify and research outstanding accounts that may be subject to probate or bankruptcy claims.
b. Process the legal filing of a claim in probate court or execute a discharged bankruptcy claim.
c. Communicate with the attorney, executor, family member or other appropriate individual regarding probate or bankruptcy.
d. Discharge the probate claim via preparing and sending a legal document to the attorney of record to release or close the claim.
e. Agency assignments.
f. Audit monthly/weekly bad debt transactions.
g. Research and audit individual accounts to resolve patient issues.
h. Prepares reports for management.
i. Communicates with collection agency to assist with resolution of patient disputes.

Qualifications
This position requires:
Strong organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
An understanding of medical terminology, CPT and ICD9 coding.
Understanding of mainframe computer systems.
The ability to attend to detail.

$20.20 - $23.62 /hour
