Salary:                   $204,334/year to $235,400/year + bonus + equity + benefits.

Duties:

Build pragmatic, scalable, and statistically rigorous solutions to large-scale web, mobile and data infrastructure problems by leveraging or developing state-of-the-art statistical and machine learning methodologies on top of Meta's unparalleled data infrastructure. Join the Infrastructure Quantitative Engineering group responsible for the strategic analysis to support and enable the continued growth critical to Meta's infrastructure organization. Apply their quantitative and computational expertise by using math, statistics, and machine learning to measure and optimize the cost, performance, reliability, and efficiency of Meta's infrastructure and global telecom systems to deliver the best experience to our global audience. Work cross-functionally to define problem statements, collect data, build analytical models, and make recommendations. Build and maintain data-driven optimization models, experiments, forecasting algorithms, and machine learning models. Leverage tools like Python, R, Hadoop, and SQL to drive efficient analytics. Utilize experience with scientific computing and analysis packages such as NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, dplry, or ggplot2 and statistical methods such as forecasting, time series, and regression analysis to solve analytical problems and build models.

 

Requirements:

Employer will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or related field and three years of experience in the job offered or in a Research Data Scientist-related occupation. Position requires three years of experience in the following:

  1. Solving analytical problems and building models using quantitative, statistical or machine learning approaches;
  2. Data extraction, cleaning, analysis and presentation for medium to large datasets;
  3. Using a programming language such as Python, R, Java, or C++;
  4. Writing SQL queries;
  5. Computing and analysis packages such as NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, dplyr, or ggplot2;
  6. Using statistical methods such as forecasting, time series, hypothesis testing, classification, clustering or regression analysis;
  7. Data visualization libraries such as Matplotlib, Pyplot, or ggplot2; and
  8. Machine learning libraries and packages such as PyTorch, Caffe2, TensorFlow, Keras or Theano
