UW Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time (intermittent hourly) Registered Nurse (RN) to join the UW Medicine HEART Institute at Mountlake Terrace . The Registered Nurse will collaborate with our renowned multi-disciplinary team that includes cardiologists, interventionalists, sub-specialty nurses, advanced practice providers, sonographers, and administrative staff to coordinate, support, and optimize the medical care of our patient population.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: The Heart Institute Clinic at Mountlake Terrace (MLT) provides care for our general cardiology patients, as well as multiple cardiac subspecialties, including non-invasive imaging.

General Cardiology: The General Cardiology RN team supports the patients seen at the UW Heart Institute by providing expert nursing care, phone triage, care coordination, patient education, as well as patient support within the MLT clinic.

Echo: Nurses will supervise stress tests, and support imaging by administering Definity, and performing Bubble studies. This position requires numerous IV starts daily, so strong IV skills are necessary for supporting the patient population.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • IV skills • Stress echo monitoring • ECG analysis • Monitoring and checking defibrillators and similar equipment • Working knowledge of Universal Precautions • Patient education and teaching • Managing the patient undergoing different Echocardiogram and Stress tests and doing Definity and Bubble Studies as indicated. • Collaborate with our multi-disciplinary team consisting of cardiologists, surgeons, interventionalists, other sub-specialty nurses, advanced practice providers, research team, and administrative staff to coordinate, support, and optimize the medical care of the patient population.

REQUIREMENTS: • Active WA State or Multi-state RN License by start date. • 2 years of current or recent nursing experience in cardiovascular nursing, ICU, ER, or Telemetry.
