  • Opportunity to provide career growth DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Located in north Seattle, Heart Institute at UW Medical Center – Northwest provides a wide range of cardiac services, including early prevention, risk assessment and acute and chronic disease management. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under general supervision, perform specialized clerical and technical duties to facilitate the delivery of patient care

  • Function as an expert in both patient service area and registration; perform the work of registration and scheduling or unit coordination• Follow an effective workflow for the referral process to address both internal and external referrals, as well as communicating with referring providers• Document the steps in the process• Utilize forms and letters to document the process• Follow processes for specific subspecialty referrals with physicians• Oversee referral process and ensure compliance with process• Maintain a database for tracking referrals using EPIC• Create, maintain, and adjust provider templates per provider requests REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduation or equivalent

  • Two years Patient Services Specialist 2 experience OR
