Purpose: Comtech is looking for qualified candidates with exceptional knowledge of RF SATCOM technologies and basic knowledge of IP Network (NIPR/SIPR) concepts, including routing and switching technologies. Candidate must be capable of providing maintenance, operation, and support for the day-to-day end users of tactical satellite systems as directed. The candidate must be capable of training in first-level troubleshooting and implementing RF Communications Systems and baseband networks as directed. Previous work experience should include working with military or commercial RF SATCOM systems. The candidate will be required to be the Subject Matter Expert on all equipment being trained and/or supported. This position is based in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, but the candidate must travel to deployed unit locations up to 20% of their time to ensure project success. The candidate will be expected to work with a spirit of cooperation and must exhibit a tenacious work ethic while possessing the drive and critical thinking to excel in potentially tumultuous conditions.

Must have an active, current Secret Clearance.

Applicants must possess a valid U.S. Passport with at least six (6) months remaining before expiration.

Responsibilities:

This position will perform the following duties:

Install, operate, and maintain Tactical VSAT (SNAP)

Operate Satellite Modems, Redundancy Switch, associated cables, and interconnects; Up Converters, Redundancy Switch; Down Converters, High Power Amplifiers (HPAs), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), Low Noise Block (LNB); Waveguide (rigid, flex, and elliptical) joints and connections; Intermediate Frequency (IF) cable and connections; Antenna, Antenna motors, Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA), Antenna Control Unit (ACU), and associated cabling and interconnects; Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Units; Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS); Generator (if applicable).

Operate and maintain Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) modems (iDirect, Linkway, Datum, Comtech, etc.).

Configure TDMA network for Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Network (DMVPN).

Configure and integrate COMSEC equipment (e.g., KG -175D, KG-175 Classic, KG-250X and KG-175E) into all tactical SATCOM systems.

Provide training to military, civilian, and contractor personnel on tactical SATCOM equipment when required.

Manage and maintain telecommunication installation supplies.

Maintain daily on-hand inventories.

Maintain and troubleshoot using any Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) required beyond the supported equipment's Built-In-Test (BIT) capability.

Provide knowledge of tactical and commercial satellite communication equipment.

Provide technical documentation skills related to SAR, GAR
