UW MEDICINE IT SERVICES has an outstanding job opportunity for a MANAGER, ANALYTICS INTAKE AND COLLABORATION position.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE – 40 hours per week

  • Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 07:00 – 16:00 (PST), Monday-Friday POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Provide leadership and oversight for management of the overall portfolio of Analytics work.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain a team of Analysts and Developers in Analytics services, solutions development, and customer access.

  • Partner with customers and Analysts across UW Medicine to centrally manage transparent intake and prioritization of analytics requests effectively and appropriately.

  • Lead collaborations with customers, Affiliated Developers (non-ITS developers), and Analytics team members to collect, organize, and prioritize the analytics requests across UW Medicine.

  • Manage a team in developing and implementing a standard process for all reporting and data requests across UW Medicine.

  • Manage a team of Analysts and Developers in Solutions Development, ensuring customers have the appropriate level of access to the tools and data needed.

  • Manage data, meta data, “master data,” standard definitions, and Analytics Catalog.

  • Manage collaborations with the other Analytics teams to ensure we are meeting current and future business needs. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Neighborhood Clinics (UWNC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). In addition, UW Medicine shares in the ownership and governance of Children’s University Medical Group and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (a partnership between UW Medicine, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research, and Seattle Children’s). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You implement and sustain strong processes and capabilities through the enhancement, deployment, and maintenance of methods, metrics, tools, training, education, and communication.

  • You manage assigned budget(s) and resources.

  • You manage and sustain vendor/supplier relationships.

  • You maintain appropriate levels of service delivery in order to deliver and improve services for the enterprise.

  • You foster an IT Service Management culture.

  • You are responsible for development of the best practices, processes, and tools by which multiple analytics customers engage with our team.

  • You organize, lead, and motivate a team of customer facing Data Analysts, Business Analysts, and Trainer professionals.

  • You instill UW Medicine and ITS vision and guiding principles to all staff, implementing mission-oriented HR practices.

  • You promote an environment that is attractive to the employee and that facilitates the recruitment and retention of professional, technical, and support staff. This includes, but is not limited to, staff development, recognition, motivation, and communications.

  • You make hiring decisions and recommendations for separations, reclassification recommendations, salary adjustment recommendations, handle complaints and grievances as well as generally planning, assigning, and approving the work of these positions. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.

  • 6+ years’ experience must include the below.

  • 6+ years progressive, hands-on, relevant experience related to data and analytics consulting, or business analysis.

  • 4+ years’ experience mentoring, leading, or managing technology and/or business professionals.

  • Demonstrated management and leadership capabilities with proven ability to influence in matrix environment.

  • Proven ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and provide guidance and leadership to staff.

  • Experience in leading and training Analysts in best practices for business and data analysis.

  • Hands on, relevant work experience with data reporting, visualization, dashboards, and analytics requests.

  • Strong, applied experience supporting business decision making through analytics, reporting, dashboard, and visualization solutions, or a background in healthcare, biology, clinical research, pharma, biomedical informatics, or medical devices.

  • Prior experience developing, implementing, and managing work and project management standards and processes.

  • Prior experience in a role delivering services to senior customer representatives.

  • Prior experience in a role with responsibilities developing and continuously improving processes in support of quality and/or throughput initiatives.

  • Prior experience in a role with a significant IT customer service component, with the ability to demonstrate the management of realistic expectations, communicate difficult messages, and negotiate win-win solutions and strategies. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This is an Information Technology deadline-driven work environment.

  • The individual in this position is expected to work normal daytime hours. The work may be performed in either an office environment or by telecommuting with manager approval, during normal business hours; however, significant off-hours and weekends may be needed to resolve problems and respond to emergencies. This individual is expected to be available for emergencies (business continuity/disaster recovery efforts) on a 24x7 basis as needed.

  • Must coordinate projects without direct supervisory authority.

  • Must work within the constraints of multiple technical environments.

  • The individual in this position must learn many organizational structures and cultures and continually foster collaboration.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
