GE Aerospace Lead Engineer 1 - Commercial Field Service in Seattle, Washington

Job Description Summary

• Technical support of an assigned airline’s commercial aircraft engines fleets, while located at the customer assigned airline’s key maintenance base or headquarters.

• All activities relating to enhancing fleet performance and reliability, helping resolve technical issues impacting the fleet. Own the technical customer relationship and attend commercial or high-level discussions between GE and the customer.

• Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

• This job is based in Seattle, WA and is not a remote position.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationship at all levels of assigned airline customer, from the shop floor to senior management, and across GE Aerospace and CFM International. This is a high visibility position across the airline’s organization, as well as GE Aerospace and CFM International.

  • Support of installed engine base, including activities such as customer & fleet issue resolution, service bulletin implementation, fleet monitoring (diagnostics).

  • Monitors reliability and on wing performance (e.g. significant events, engine removals, delays and cancellation). Influence airline stakeholders to implement important reliability improvements or deliver on special programs or projects (water/foam wash, derate optimization, fleet programs, etc.).

  • Influence long-term maintenance planning and aircraft engine fleet stability, in collaboration with the GE/CFM Program Manager and GE/CFM maintenance shops.

  • Internal & external tech reviews & tech review prep, interface and influence the broader GE C&PSO organization, including senior leadership.

  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.

  • Communication, influencing, networking skills critical.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Fleet Management

  • 10+ years experience in Airline operations, Engineering, Aviation propulsion, or a related field.

  • Technical expertise and experience of aircraft engine or turbomachinery equipment, aviation experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

The base pay range for this position is $90,200 - $150,300. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on March 6, 2024.
