The UW Autism Center (UWAC) is a unit within the Institute on Human Development and Disability in UW Pediatrics and is devoted to supporting families affected by autism spectrum disorders through exceptional clinical services, innovative scientific research and high-quality training.

The UWAC Seattle currently has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (100% FTE) licensed Lead - Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The main function of this position includes providing direct clinical services to parents and families of autistic children enrolled in the Seattle LAUNCH programs, supervising Seattle LAUNCH staff (BCBAs and BTs) and practicum students, and providing oversight of the daily clinical operations for the Seattle ABA LAUNCH program. In addition, this position will provide professional development and consultation services to the broader community through our Training and Consultation Services team.

This individual will work among a team of professionals, including other board-certified behavior analysts (BCBAs), licensed psychologists, speech-language pathologists, behavior technicians, medical professionals, faculty, graduate students, and pre- and post-doctoral fellows.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will include providing direct clinical services to parents and families with children with autism spectrum disorders enrolled in the Seattle LAUNCH program and supervision of Seattle LAUNCH staff and practicum students.

• Lead weekly individual resource sharing & transition planning sessions with parents from Seattle LAUNCH programs, find resources for families, discharge planning with team and co-lead weekly parent psychoeducational groups and develop content. • Supervise staff and undergraduate and graduate practicum students as well as volunteers and evaluate their performance. • Lead and attend team meetings which include case consultation and operations. • Complete client session notes, referral letters, discharge reports, and other administrative responsibilities in a timely manner. • Provide back up clinical coverage in the LAUNCH classroom including designing, implementing, and modifying intervention and instructional program for autistic children ages 2-6 years old. • Screen, interview, and hire new staff for the LAUNCH program and provide oversight for daily clinical operations and other special projects for the UWAC LAUNCH program. Train and supervise behavioral technicians (BT) who work with clients and their parents in the center-based program to implement client treatment plans with fidelity.

This position will include providing training and consultation to the broader community including school districts and community agencies as needed.

• Provide training to the community through UWAC trainings or contracted trainings with school districts and community agencies. • Training duties may consist of developing workshop materials, presenting workshops, and travel as necessary. • Training may be provided in a variety of modalities including in-person, live webinar, or recorded webinar and in a variety of styles including symposia, small group, or in-classroom hands-on training. • Provide consultation to classrooms, programs, or students as needed or assigned by supervisor. • Consultation may include but is not limited to review or records, interviews, functional assessment, direct observation, designing intervention, report writing, behavior skills training with agency or school district staff. • Complete consultation reports, session notes and other administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• LBA license from Washington state DOH and BCBA certification • Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis, education, or related field and 2+ years of experience in working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. • Experience teaching and designing programs for students with autism spectrum disorders, including collaboration with general education teachers, school administrators, related services personnel and outside community providers; • Licensure and certification, if appropriate to the field (e.g., LBA – Licensed Behavior Analyst, BCBA – Board Certified Behavior Analyst)

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
