UW MEDICINE IT SERVICES has an outstanding job opportunity for an ITS STRATEGY PROGRAM MANAGER position.

PLEASE NOTE: This position is open to current UW Medicine IT Services Employees ONLY. WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE – 40 hours per week

  • Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 07:00 – 16:00 (PST), Monday-Friday POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • ITS strategic program capability ownership – customer facing, including IT Governance strategy, Site Executive engagement/alignment, Employee Center strategy, including stakeholder engagement and communication with UW Medicine executive leadership, management, healthcare staff and physicians, and support staff.

  • ITS internal strategic program ownership and support, including ITS goals, ITS 5-year strategy, operation reviews, such as quarterly business reviews, business relationship management, and communication within ITS.

  • Engagement, alignment, and partnership with other enterprise groups, including UW Medicine Communications, Marketing, and our service line administrators and liaisons. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You collaborate with ITS leadership to develop long-term customer facing strategies.

  • You collaborate with ITS leadership and UW Medicine executives to drive simplicity, engagement, and transparency for IT Governance.

  • You serve as a primary point of contact for site executives/site coordinators, fostering strong relationships and understanding their needs and preferences.

  • You cultivate strong business relationships across UW Medicine and ITS, serving as a trusted advisor to CAO and key stakeholders.

  • You develop and execute comprehensive ITS communication plans to promote ITS programs, projects, and team initiatives and achievements, internally and externally.

  • You collaborate with senior ITS Leadership under the direction of the CAO to understand organizational goals and strategic priorities.

  • You identify and prioritize stakeholders involved in program activities, building relationships, and managing customer expectations to ensure alignment with UW Medicine and ITS.

  • You establish an ITS operations engagement strategy with UW Medicine stakeholders for the next 5 years, conducting robust stakeholder analysis in close coordination with ITSM and PMO.

  • You develop and implement communication strategies to effectively engage and inform key enterprise groups about organizational initiatives, priorities, and achievements.

  • You collaborate with the marketing team to align engagement initiatives with marketing campaigns and promotional activities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Health Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.

  • 10+ years of experience to include the below.

  • 10+ years of experience serving in a project or program leadership role with responsibilities of developing and deploying strategic communication programs in support of an organization’s vision for branding, targeting either customers or employees, for executive leaders and the organization, implementing change management methodology.

  • Demonstrated experience leading, motivating, and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding all teams accountable for performance.

  • Demonstrated leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down, multiple business and technology organizations/business units.

  • Demonstrated experience effectively working with multiple, diverse stakeholders in a complex project environment within a cross-functional matrix environment.

  • Demonstrated experience managing project work and/or work of others within an established standard project lifecycle framework.

  • Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills, both written and oral, with technical and non-technical staff and all levels of management.

  • Strong experience in successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule, and within budget close.

  • Strong experience in Project Methodologies (e.g., Agile, SCRUM, SDLC/Waterfall).

  • Experience negotiating vendor contracts.

  • Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary.

  • Experience maintaining relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.

  • Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from executive sponsors, team members, stakeholders, and peers.

  • Experience researching best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data and using continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve results.

  • Technically competent with various software programs including MS Office tools (e.g., Project, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook). CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • This is an Information Technology deadline-driven work environment.

  • The individual in this position is expected to work normal daytime hours. The work may be performed in either an office environment or by telecommuting with manager approval, during normal business hours; however, significant off-hours and weekends may be needed to resolve problems and respond to emergencies. This individual is expected to be available for emergencies (business continuity/disaster recovery efforts) on a 24x7 basis as needed.

  • Must coordinate projects without direct supervisory authority.

  • Must work within the constraints of multiple technical environments.

  • The individual in this position must learn many organizational structures and cultures and continually foster collaboration.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
