About the Role

As a Banana Republic Home Design Consultant, you have a passion for creating aspirational and on trend looks that enhance the customer's emotional connection to the brand. You build meaningful and lasting relationships with your customers, leveraging your thorough understanding of interior design, lifestyle brands and seasonal trends to guide and advise your customers looking to furnish an entire room or simply add an accent piece. As a Home Design Consultant, you will contribute to a positive, friendly and inclusive environment that inspires and makes our customers feel welcome. Your goal is to grow the business by genuinely wanting to create an outstanding and elevated customer experience.

What You'll Do

  • Support and maintain sales goals as communicated by your leadership team

  • Promote design services to clients in order to elevate their shopping experience

  • Build rapport with customer by demonstrating strong product knowledge and interpersonal skills

  • Develop lasting relationships with clients through clienteling

  • Ensure brand is brought to life through refined aesthetics and merchandising

  • Represent the brand and understand the competition and home furnishings landscape

  • Demonstrate values and behaviors that amplify our Words to Live by

  • Create an inclusive environment through meaningful and authentic connections with employees and customers

Who You Are

  • Proven success in elevated selling culture and experience leveraging clienteling behaviors in premium or luxury retail environment with home furnishings

  • Strength in driving metrics to deliver results that will meet or exceed business goals

  • Ability to navigate various technology platforms and devices with or without a reasonable accommodation as part of the selling experience

  • Ability to build/maintain a client based and provide creative furnishing solutions for clients

  • Ability to manage complex customer issues or concerns in a timely manner

  • Flexible to work days, nights, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business; consistent scheduling may be available as required by state and local laws

  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs. with or without a reasonable accommodation

  • You have 12+ months previous sales experience in a premium or luxury retail environment with home furnishings, with some interior design or spatial planning experience preferred

  • High School+ diploma or GED

  • A champion for Gap Inc culture

Hourly Range: $18.20 - $22.75 USD

Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
