Amazon Front End Engineer, Amazon in Seattle, Washington

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced and motivated Front end engineer to join our cross functional team of software engineers, product managers, UX and data engineers to help drive our vision of building an integrated and scalable solution for our Finance community. As a team we are always looking for ways to drive innovation within the Finance community through automation and building self service solutions for our customers. This is the role for you, if you have a passion for continuously improving customer experience, you are motivated by challenging problems in developing and scaling highly responsive customer facing applications and love writing great code.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will..

  • Help define front end architectures, own and implement specific components, and help shape the overall user experience

  • Contributing to defining best practices for front end development

  • Collaborate closely with UX Designers, Product Managers, and generalist Software Development Engineers on the same team to help deliver the product.

  • Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvement as a member of an autonomous team.

  • Take responsibility for technical problem-solving, creatively meeting product goals, and developing best practices.

  • You will design and develop React based web applications and leverage component libraries such as MUI

  • Write high-quality, efficient, testable code in React JS

  • Mentor and support the growth of other developers.

About the team

Our team within GFT is responsible for designing and building financial planning and reporting solutions for Corporate FP&A. Our primary customer is the CFO's office and we are responsible for ensuring delivery of critical financial data for Amazon's key financial activities such as planning, budgeting and reporting quarterly earnings results. Our team's primary mission is to increase automation through technology, enable self service applications and increase customer trust.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience

  • 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience

  • Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience

  • Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node

  • Experience building scalable, distributed, front-end experiences

  • Experience building reusable UX components or libraries

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
