Amazon Forecasting Manager III, Selling Partner Support in Seattle, Washington

This position will lead the development of forecasts to predict volume demand from external and internal customers and establish strong mechanisms to meet forecast accuracy targets and ongoing changes in customer need.

Selling Partner Services is responsible for creating a trustworthy shopping experience across Amazon stores worldwide by protecting customers, brands, selling partners and Amazon from fraud, counterfeit, and abuse as well as empowering, providing world‐class support, and building loyalty with Amazon’s millions of selling partners. The Selling Partner Support (SP-Support) team within Selling Partner Services handles the majority of support interactions with Selling Partners (Sellers, Vendors, and Brand Owners), but also work with many other teams across Selling Partner Services and other Amazon teams to collectively solve Selling Partner issues. This role will work closely with other analytics, science, data engineering, capacity planning, product and program teams across Amazon to develop volume demand forecasts which are used by downstream teams to plan staffing, cost, and root cause resolution approaches. This will lead to influencing prioritization and funding discussions across cross-functional product, support, and tech teams to address parity gaps that can improve the overall selling partner experience. This requires a leader who thinks big, dives deep, establishes meaningful business relationships to help influence broadly, and can autonomously build a strategic vision to meet forecasting needs and methodical execute it for this team. The ideal candidate for this role should be:

Key job responsibilities

· Self-starter who understands the current and future business needs by working closely with stakeholders to recognize their needs and requirements.

· Experienced forecasting manager who will develop long-term forecasts while aligning the strategy to the business goals of the organization and translating them into an achievable roadmap.

· Leader with hands-on experience who shares deep domain/process expertise across own team.

· Proactively identify problems with significant business impact; facilitate analysis to identify problems and opportunities.

· Scale strategies and expand past immediate department.

· Set and articulate expectations around leadership behavior for team; model behavior that exemplifies Amazon Leadership Principles.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (engineering, economics, mathematics, statistics)

  • 7+ years of professional experience in analytics, statistics, consulting or program / project management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable in analyzing large data sets.

  • Proven track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment

  • Demonstrated ability to derive business insights, make recommendations and take data driven decisions

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and an ability to get cohesion across competing priorities and communicate with both business and technical teams across multiple levels

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Predictive Analytics, Business, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or related field.

  • Working knowledge of SQL or other analytical tools (R or Python) for conducting data analysis.

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership.

  • Professional experience in forecasting or demand and supply planning.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
