Blue Origin LLC Fluids Engineer III in Seattle, Washington

This role is a part of the Test & Flight Operations team, providing centralized support to business units with a focus on the design, build, and maintenance of the ground systems, test, and launch facilities across multiple locations. A level 3 fluids engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing and peer reviewing fluid systems across a wide variety of ground systems at Blue Origin. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead the design and assessment of fluid systems for aerospace ground applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and optimal functionality. Provide guidance for integrated fluid system architectures to ensure design is utilizing learned knowledge from prior projects, has properly vetted the available trade space, and is optimized based on the needs of the customer. Provide ROM cost and schedule for projects during proposal phase. Utilize AFT and Thermal Desktop to conduct comprehensive analysis and design for complex fluids systems. Establish and oversee workflow processes for rapid build, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and streamlined development of fluid systems. Conduct peer reviews of project work, providing valuable feedback and guidance to junior engineers to foster their professional growth and development. Support troubleshooting efforts and root cause analyses on related systems. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. 7+ years of professional experience with fluid systems in an aerospace or similar industry. Advanced knowledge of ASME B31.3 and/or ASME B31.12 Proficient with fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer principles. Proven expertise in utilizing AFT Fathom and Arrow or similar tools for advanced analysis and design of Fluid systems. Proficient in Thermal Desktop for complex thermofluid analysis. Experience with proposals for large scale integrated fluid systems Familiar with orbital launch sites and engine test stands Familiar with Creo and Windchill Experience with CAD and fluid analysis software (CFD, FEA, etc.). In-depth knowledge of industry standards and codes related to fluid system design and qualification. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex technical challenges. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
