The Alzheimer's Association Director, Ride to End Alzheimer's in Seattle, Washington

Description This position will develop and lead the cycling fundraising initiative for the Association. This will include the strategy, recruitment, ride details, coaching and training program for the nationwide cycling program. This also includes all training, materials, plans and resources needed for staff, volunteers and participants. The Director position is remote/work from home based. This position is part of the National (internally known as Home office) Constituent Events Team, reporting to the Vice President, Constituent Events. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS This position will develop and lead the cycling fundraising initiative for the Association. This will include the strategy, recruitment, ride details, coaching and training program for the nationwide cycling program Responsible for driving the success of the Ride to End ALZ program as well as a large Ride to End ALZ event. Recruit and lead a team of dynamic volunteer leaders, you will put your proven sales and relationship management skills to work achieving revenue goals through positive engagement with corporate and community volunteer leaders. As a recognized and enthusiastic community mobilizer and networker, you will exponentially increase brand awareness as you cultivate relationships with key C-suite corporate and community partners. Your success at recruiting, coaching and empowering volunteers will ensure strong volunteer committee retention and succession planning that sets your event up for success for years to come. As an ambitious fundraiser in the peer-to-peer space, you will coach and inspire your volunteers, teams and cyclists to set fundraising goals that propel your event to one of the most successful in the country. Develop recruitment plan; manage recruitment of volunteer committee members, teams and participants for multiple ride event locations. Develop engagement and fundraising plan; manage engagement of committee members, teams and participants at multiple ride event locations. Develop an extensive pipeline to secure national sponsors for the Ride to End ALZ program. Plan, develop and execute recruitment, fundraising and online training materials for participants and volunteers, along with becoming an online fundraising expert within our online platforms. Effectively lead a team of professionals. Cultivate an environment of collaboration and innovation, firmly grounded in well-defined objectives and measurable key performance indicators. Driving a team culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and career growth Identify and oversee participant support and work with contracted vendor on event logistics. Expand the profile of the cycling program by developing relationships within the organization and identifying key cycling industry partners, such as cycling clubs, event organizers and cycling retailers; focused on multiple ride event locations. Travel extensively to meet and support participants, volunteers and other key stakeholders, and to attend and support events as required. Serve as staff partner to the National Executive Leadership Team and develop fundraising targets for the group as well as engagement plan. Recruit new members. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate a successful track record of leading cycling fundraising events at a national and regional level. Proven track record of participant recruitment strategies and community recruitment efforts. Candidates will need to be proactive team player with the ability to organize and prioritize a busy and varied workload with excellent technical knowledge, logistics experience, customer service and marketing skills.
