Amazon Corporate Counsel - Artificial Intelligence, Legal - Alexa in Seattle, Washington

Description

We are looking for a talented attorney to help support some of our most cutting-edge machine learning and artificial intelligence initiatives, as we continue to bring delightful new products and services to our customers around the world. You will be responsible for providing legal guidance on AI regulatory compliance and responsible AI development.

Key job responsibilities

You will advise one or more business teams and business leaders on a broad range of regulatory compliance issues of first impression involving artificial intelligence and machine learning. You will work directly with business and legal colleagues to develop compliance plans and strategy. You will be a critical member of the team building compliance mechanisms for the responsible development and deployment of AI models. You will partner with product managers, scientists, engineers and other cross-functional stakeholders to find effective and innovative solutions. And you’ll do all of this with support from and in collaboration with a dynamic, experienced, and global team of lawyers at Amazon Legal.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of legal experience

  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work

  • Experience with regulatory compliance, related to AI or otherwise

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
