Amazon Controllership Finance Manager, WW Grocery Stores FP&A in Seattle, Washington

The Finance Manager, WW Grocery Stores Controllership will support controllership initiatives across the organization. This role will ensure that the WW Grocery Stores processes stay ahead of risks associated with growth in areas of process design, internal control effectiveness, computer system integration, and other relevant areas. This role partners regularly with a broad range of finance and business leaders across the WW Amazon Stores, Grocery and WW Operations organization, often at some of the most senior levels within the company. We are looking for a leader that will drive change across the organization, stay ahead of operational risks, and strengthen our control environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Function as the key liaison and point of contact for the WW Amazon Stores (WWAS) Controllership group.

  • Act as a subject matter export for internal finance teams and business partners in areas such as PO/Procurement Management, CapEx, Leases, Inventory and Fixed Asset life cycles.

  • Assessment of the design or operating effectiveness gaps in internal controls in areas such as PO/Procurement Management, CapEx, Leases, Inventory and Fixed Asset cycles.

  • Drive projects, provide controls guidance and often serve as the first point of contact for finance and business partners to resolve control issues related to various controllership.

  • Focus Project manage key controllership initiatives from WW Amazon Stores across the organization.

  • Coordinate across WW Grocery Stores organization to identify and drive resolution of any control issues, share best practices, publish dashboards and follow up on completion of key controls tasks.

  • Analyze defect root causes and propose remediation and avoidance strategies across the organization.

  • Work cross-functionally with accounting teams as well as business teams within WW Grocery Stores to identify business requirements and implement controls.

  • Drive adherence to spending policies across functional teams. Communicate Project status to stakeholders and leadership and drive project deliverables to completion.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including Pivot Tables, dynamic dashboards, Power Pivots, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally, manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously, and drive projects to completion

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency

  • Prior experience in SOX and Internal Controls

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
