Job Summary A Commercial Portfolio Manager (CPM) is responsible for managing existing commercial bank relationships, which includes the sale and underwriting of credit and non-credit products offered within the commercial bank. While the CPM is not expected to source new business from prospects, they are welcome to do so under the guidance of the Division Manager or Director. CPMs shall possess outstanding customer service skills as well as strong credit underwriting skills. CPMs will be expected to partner with the appropriate commercial banking colleagues (Loan Coordinators, Credit Analysts) to deliver credit relationships with the guidance of Credit Administration and the Division Manager or Director. CPMs works closely with Treasury Relationship Management (TRM) colleagues to grow and service the non-credit needs of commercial clients. This position will develop and manage commercial relationships which meet established lending and client selectivity requirements and provide maximum profitability to the Bank with a minimum of risk. KEY FUNCTIONS: Proactively manages existing commercial relationships that can include new business opportunities, credit renewals, accurate risk ratings as well as covenant monitoring and reporting. Actively involved in instilling and maintaining a positive sales environment through education of the Bank's products and services; investigates and follows up on significant changes in status of existing customers; focus on quality customer maintenance responsibilities; meets with customers to discuss needs and outline appropriate Bank services; resolves customer concerns or problems as necessary. Establishes, and negotiates where necessary, the terms under which credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment method and schedule and collateral requirements. Develops a deep understanding of non-credit products, leads the engagement with clients and prospects to uncover opportunities and appropriate solutions to help the clients more efficiently manage cash flow. Performs all required portfolio management responsibilities, including but not limited to monitoring of customers' financial reporting requirement and compliance with covenants. Stays current on all compliance training and adheres to the bank's commitment to abide by all Know Your Customer expectations and Bank Secrecy Act regulations. Seeks to be a trusted advisor by maintaining current knowledge on the customers' business and industry. Develops materials for and makes loan presentations to Credit Administration and Sr. Loan Committee, where required. Serves as a contact for non-borrowing and borrowing clients for matters relating to other Bank services, including Work Perks, personal and private banking. Counsels with and assists in the training and development of Banking Officers, Loan Coordinators and Credit Analysts. Completes special projects as assigned by manager.
