The Center for American Indian and Indigenous Studies (CAIIS) at the University of Washington invites applications for a full time Assistant Director (AD) position to perform professional level program management for the Center.

CAIIS was created to support the retention and recruitment of American Indian and Indigenous studies faculty, staff, and students. To accomplish this goal, CAIIS breaks down disciplinary and unit silos across the University of Washington’s three campuses, fosters an ecosystem of support, and unapologetically centers Native knowledge and sovereignty.

The AD reports to the faculty co-directors and supervises various student positions, including student leads for Native Organization of Indigenous Scholars (NOIS), Native UW (NUW) Scholars Program, and Pathways. The position requires the ability to work flexible hours, exercise independent judgment, independently make decisions, and take on substantial responsibilities to ensure program success.
