University Marketing & Communications has an exciting opening for an Assistant Director for Strategic Partnerships. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Assistant Director for Strategic Partnerships is responsible for managing a portfolio of the UW’s strategic partnership accounts. Working closely with the Senior Director and Associate Director, this position will lead the activation and strategic engagement of strategic partners, further deepening these relationships in support of the UW. The Assistant Director will provide leadership and work with the Partnerships Service Manager on implementation, stewardship and reporting. This position works collaboratively with University colleagues on partner integrations.

What You Will Do: Account Management and Activation Planning (80%)

• Lead activation planning for existing and new partners. • Serve as the point of contact and account manager for an assigned portfolio of partners. • Partner with corporate sponsors, including identifying opportunities where the partner’s goals align with the University’s mission and guide strategies accordingly. • Develop a deep understanding of a partner's brand, goals and sponsorship objectives to ensure all contracted elements, programs and assets are activated, delivered and aligned with the University and partner’s expectations. • Advise, support and proactively communicate with stakeholders in various UW departments including Housing & Food Services, Intercollegiate Athletics, Advancement, Student Life, Huskies Sports Properties, and others regarding sponsor integration. • Initiate, manage and coordinate the marketing and promotional schedule for a partner’s sponsorship efforts. Ensure all deadlines, materials and other requirements are met. • Plan, develop and execute sponsorship events, in partnership with UMAC colleagues. • Provide on-site support for sponsorship activations, as needed.

Business Development (15%)

• Support the Associate Director and Senior Director on new account acquisition efforts, including research, planning, pitch development and onboarding.

Other Duties as Assigned (5%) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field and 3-5 years of experience in business, marketing or related field.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. What You Bring:

• Experience providing a high level of customer service to clients, partners and customers. • Capacity to work professionally with many constituencies (e.g., staff, faculty, students, alumni, vendors, agencies, sponsors, donors and volunteers). • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills. • Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently. • Must be flexible in a fast-paced setting and be able to work under deadline pressure. • Strong communication skills, demonstrated creativity, initiative and good judgment. • Must be adept at problem-solving and research. • Demonstrated skill in analyzing and synthesizing complex data/information (e.g. financial data), identifying patterns, and formulating logical and objective conclusions. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Graphic design skills are a plus. • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.

• Cubicle/open environment that may result in additional or higher levels of noise and visual distractions. • Some evening and weekend hours are required, as necessary. • Some local travel is required, as necessary. • Additional in office presence beyond two days per week may be required, as necessary.
