The School of Pharmacy has an exciting opening for an Advancement Services Officer. This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Advancement Services Officer (ASO) supports the School of Pharmacy’s Advancement team and is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of an engagement program that aligns with the School of Pharmacy’s (SoP) goal to increase individual giving. This position will also help develop and promote opportunities that encourage support, engagement and connection with the SoP, including stewardship activities.

The ASO reports to the Director of Philanthropy and works in collaboration with the Dean, department chairs, faculty, SoP and University Advancement colleagues.

What You Will Do: Project Management and Events Support (50%)

·Support SoP’s Advancement team with projects related to annual gifts, volunteer engagement, marketing & communications, events and stewardship. ·Support and manage SoP alumni engagement activities, including working with alumni volunteers, planning alumni events, and managing alumni giving campaigns. ·Liaise with the University’s central Annual Philanthropy team to coordinate and execute annual philanthropy activities, including student calling, direct mail marketing and participation in Husky Giving Day. ·Support fundraisers in their cultivation efforts, including coordinating activities directly linked to strategic objectives of pipeline prospects. ·Collaborate with stakeholders to write, edit and prepare funding proposals, donor correspondence, donor/alumni publications, donor impact reports and other projects, as needed. ·Advise and assist SoP departments and programs in the development of events and activities related to advancement, alumni engagement, outreach and public awareness, as directed.

Gift Processing, Acknowledgement & Stewardship (40%)

·Manage the stewardship process in partnership with the Dean and/or other members of the Advancement team. ·Assist in the collection and management of stewardship-related data to ensure fulfillment of stewardship obligations. Document and track stewardship actions. ·Work with central Advancement’s Philanthropic Recognition Programs team to coordinate stewardship efforts and serve as SoP’s representative at Stewardship Network meetings. ·Assist in requesting, preparing and distributing professorship reports and student scholarship letters. ·Gain familiarity with gift budgets and work with the Finance team, as needed, to monitor spending and fund creation.

Administrative & Other (10%)

·Provide general administrative support to the SoP Advancement team. ·Prepare materials and agendas for internal and external meetings and educational events, including confidential briefings for the Dean, department chairs and/or faculty members. ·Contribute to the maintenance of the SoP’s web pages, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date event and giving information. ·Support the planning and facilitation of SoP Advancement team meetings and retreats. ·Provide direct assistance for meeting scheduling for the Assistant Dean of Advancement. ·Other special projects and related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree AND two years of experience in advancement/development, non-profit or related field.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. What You Bring:

•Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite and prior experience using databases. •Excellent written and oral communication skills. •Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks; detail-oriented and able to work effectively under deadline pressure. •Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. •Strong interpersonal skills and customer service.

What You Can Expect:

•Cubicle/Open workspace environment which may result in additional or higher levels of noise and visual distractions. •Occasional evening and weekend hours, as necessary, on short or limited notice.
