University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for an ADVANCED CARDIOVASCULAR TECHNOLOGIST (CVT) Lead in the CARDIAC CATH LAB. This is a leadership position which functions as a clinical resource and provides direct support to Cath Lab staff and providers. Responsibilities include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating complex interventional cardiology cases. Case types include all complex coronary (PCI, CTO, Brachy), structural heart (TAVR, TMVR, Mitraclip, Tricuspid clip, LAAO, ASD/PFO/VSD, etc.), heart failure/transplant (Biopsies, RHC, Impella, Tandem, ECMO, IABP) and adult-congenital procedures. They effectively communicate with physicians and other staff about changes in the patient’s condition, including hemodynamic monitoring and symptomatology. May participate in performance improvement and CQI activities within the department. Takes Cath Lab “On-Call” after regular department hours according to a monthly schedule.

Leadership responsibilities include working closely and collaboratively with a team of leaders in the invasive cardiac procedures area, which includes EP, Cath and the prep/recovery area(s). The “Lead” CVT serves as a primary resource and support for assigned technologists within the department. Administrative time is provided to support efforts related to staff education, precepting, and supervisory needs within the department, as well as other non-patient care duties, such as; collaborative oversight of procedure room equipment, supply/inventory management, radiation dosimetry, physician preference lists, staff scheduling and other programmatic planning and support for the Cath service line. Acts as one of the liaisons between stakeholders at UWMC, including clinical engineering, central processing, nursing, physicians and administration.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: • The EP Lab technologist will scrub, monitor and/or circulate diagnostic and complex electrophysiology procedures. This role requires excellent communication skills with providers and staff about changes in the patient's condition, including hemodynamic monitoring and symptomatology.

REQUIREMENTS: • 1 year of EP experience and Associate of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited Interventional Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) program AND registration by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) AND Licensure by the State of Washington as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CIS)

OR

• 1 year of EP experience and Associate of Arts (AA) degree from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program AND Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) AND Licensure by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist (RT)
