This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of diverse analysts, you will conduct thermal and fluids analysis to define the performance and operations for various spaceflight systems, define hardware requirement and resolve technical challenges.We are looking for thermal/fluids engineeras we expand our portfolio of space vehicles. You will take ownership or support analysis tasks of a complex fluid system by conducting 1D-3D thermal and fluids analysis and contribute to our product life cycle process from early conceptual design through completion of the flight mission. Analysis team contributes to deriving component requirements and system sizing and analyze flight or ground process. You will be responsible for documentation and maintenance of analysis inputs, models, and presenting results to stakeholders. Qualifications Minimum of BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (advanced degree is preferred) Must be able to graduate and start full-time by August 2025 Strong Fluids & Thermal Analysis background Familiarity with MATLAB programming Strong understanding of thermal and fluid mechanics of Cryogenics with relevant experience preferably in space industry Familiarity with Thermal Desktop/SINDA-FLUINT Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Work closely with other cross functional team as needed (e.g., systems engineers to develop and verify requirements, Design team to support sizing and trade studies, procurement to choose the best supplier) Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired (not required) Experience with modeling propulsion/cryogenic fluids management (storage, transfer, phase change) Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) (Flow3D, CFD++, ANSYS Fluent) Knowledge of other tools including MATLAB, Simulink, Amesim. Successful candidates typically have relevant proven experience in design and analysis of aerospace thermal systems.
