DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Infection Preventionist Registered Nurse (IPRN) works to prevent, detect, and control infectious diseases. You will recommend and implement policies and procedures that support the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP).  You will also conduct outbreak investigations, monitor resident health, and collaborate with facility staff to ensure quality resident care. A key role is training and monitoring staff for compliance and advising IPCP best practices.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week. Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, rotating days and every other weekend, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of professional nursing experience in a healthcare facility.

Special Requirements: This position requires possession of an Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Certificate of Mastery issued by the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care (NADONALTC), possession of an active Certified in Infection Control (CIC) certification as issued by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC), or possession of an active Long-Term Care Certification in Infection Prevention (LTC-CIP) certification as issued by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC). This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
